Schauspieler
Richard Dix
Ernst Carlton Brimmer, bekannt als Richard Dix, war ein US-amerikanischer Filmschauspieler, der sowohl im Stumm- als auch im Tonfilm populär wurde. Sein typisches Leinwandimage war das des robusten und unerschütterlichen Helden. Für seine Hauptrolle in dem mit dem Oscar ausgezeichneten Epos „Cimarron“ (1931) wurde er für den Oscar als Bester Hauptdarsteller nominiert.
Dix spielte von seinem ersten Auftritt an in 101 Filmrollen mit. An Alkoholismus leidend, starb er im Alter von 56 Jahren, nur zwei Jahre nach dem Ende seiner Filmkarriere.
