Raoul Walsh war ein US-amerikanischer Filmregisseur, Schauspieler, Gründungsmitglied der Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) und Bruder des Stummfilmschauspielers George Walsh. Er war bekannt für seine Rolle als John Wilkes Booth im Stummfilmklassiker Die Geburt einer Nation (1915) und für die Regie von Filmen wie Entscheidung in der Sierra (1941) sowie Sprung in den Tod (1949). Seine letzte Regiearbeit war 1964 Die blaue Eskadron.
