Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (* 23. September 1949 in Long Branch, New Jersey) ist ein US-amerikanischer Rock-Sänger, Gitarrist und Komponist. Der Bandleader der E Street Band ist Oscar- und Tony-Award-Preisträger sowie 20-facher Grammy-Gewinner. Springsteen ist weltweit äußerst populär und einer der kommerziell erfolgreichsten Rockmusiker überhaupt. Springsteen hat 21 Studioalben und ca. 350 Eigenkompositionen veröffentlicht. Allein in den Vereinigten Staaten hat er mehr als 70 Millionen Alben verkauft, weltweit sind es inklusive DVDs ca. 170 Millionen. Seine Songs haben meist das amerikanische Alltagsleben zum Thema. Sein Spitzname „The Boss“ entstand in den 1970er Jahren, als er seinen Bandmitgliedern nach den Auftritten die Gage bar ausbezahlt hat. Springsteen ist bekannt für seine hochenergetischen Livekonzerte, die meist dreieinhalb bis vier Stunden dauern.
