June Foray
June Foray (geboren als June Lucille Forer; 18. September 1917 – 26. Juli 2017) war eine US-amerikanische Synchronsprecherin. Sie war vor allem als Stimme zahlreicher Zeichentrickfiguren bekannt, darunter Rocky das fliegende Eichhörnchen, Natasha Fatale, Nell Fenwick, Lucifer aus Disneys Cinderella, Cindy Lou Who, Jokey Schlumpf, Granny aus den Warner Bros. Cartoons von Friz Freleng, Grammi Gummi aus Disneys Gummibärenbande und Magica De Spell.
Ihre Karriere umfasste Radio, Kurzfilme, Spielfilme, Fernsehen, Schallplatten (insbesondere mit Stan Freberg), Videospiele, sprechende Spielzeuge und andere Medien. Foray gehörte außerdem zu den Gründungsmitgliedern von ASIFA-Hollywood, der Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Animationsfilms. Sie gilt als Begründerin der Annie Awards und war maßgeblich an der Einführung des Oscars für den besten Animationsfilm im Jahr 2001 beteiligt. Ihr wurde ein Stern auf dem Hollywood Walk of Fame zu Ehren ihrer Synchronarbeit im Fernsehen verliehen.
Chuck Jones sagte einmal: „June Foray ist nicht die weibliche Version von Mel Blanc. Mel Blanc war die männliche Version von June Foray.“
Foray starb im Alter von 99 Jahren. Ihr Gesundheitszustand hatte sich seit einem Autounfall im Jahr 2015 verschlechtert.
